CPO, Optical Engines and Multichannel Optical Interconnects

Connect component analysis, optical path verification and result traceability through clear channel organization for denser optical interconnects.

What to Measure

Accessible optical paths within NPO/CPO optical engines, FAUs, MPOs and multichannel interconnect assemblies.

Define the DUT, optical access and reference conditions before discussing instruments and analysis capabilities.

Why Measure These Parameters?

Channel loss and differences

Compare transmission between channels to support assembly, coupling and consistency analysis.

Reflection events and link integrity

Check connections and discontinuities to investigate packaging and interconnect anomalies.

Channel mapping and measurement conditions

Bind measured values to actual paths and conditions to reduce wrong-path measurements, omissions and misassociated results.

How to Measure

  1. 01

Confirm DUT port maps, bands and optical access; establish target paths and references.

  2. 02

Use OVX with its built-in TSL as the core, switching channels sequentially and acquiring after stabilization.

  3. 03

Associate channels, configurations and results through a consistent Recipe concept; external instruments and production interfaces are defined per project.

Scope and LimitationsThis solution covers the optical portion of CPO testing. TDECQ, PAM4 eyes and BER require suitable high-speed oscilloscopes, BERTs and related equipment; coherent optical measurement does not replace these measurements.

What Evidence Can Be Produced?

Connect readings with records so results can be understood, compared and reviewed.

  • Optical results organized by channel
  • Path maps and actual switching records
  • Anomalous-channel and spatial-event analysis
  • Reports linked to samples, configurations and versions

Which Configuration Fits?

Combine products around the task, not simply the instrument count.

Optical measurement core

KH-OVX-Pulse / KH-OVX-Pro*

Starting points for multichannel and complex-path configurations; actual channels, bands and performance require verification.

Optical routing

OVX-SW

Channel access and sequential scanning for MPO, FAU and NPO/CPO.

Additional optical characterization

OVX-PC / OVX-PA / OVX-OSA

Add polarization control, polarization-state or spectral analysis as required; these are not all included by default.

Workflows and data

OVX-Studio

Organize tasks, channels, traces and results consistently; automation interfaces and delivery scope are confirmed per project.

* Pulse and Pro are unreleased series. Listed specifications are preliminary; final configurations, features and availability are subject to formally released technical documentation.
OVX has a built-in TSL; standalone TSLs are configured separately for appropriate user-built optical paths. OVX-TLS, OVX-SW, OVX-PC, OVX-PA, OVX-PDL and OVX-OSA are provisional product-family identifiers, not current delivery commitments. Actual functions, interfaces and performance depend on the confirmed model, method, conditions and version.
